Congratulations to Lawrence Loshak for some very impressive racing this year with a new F1000 constructor and winning the F1000 East Championship Series.
Loshak's dedication and consistency really paid off. It was a tight battle with Glenn Cooper to take the title.
Racing is racing and anything can happen to cars and drivers from one event to another.
Loshak proved that he can drive and drive hard. He has been a consisitent leader on the track.
The East F1000 Championship Series was a blast to follow and the organizer(s) need to be thanked for putting on such a fine series, and of course to the sponsors who made the awards possible. After such a disasterous year in 2012, 2013 was a 1000% turn around for the driver/owners of F1000. It was a great series, co-ordinated with SCCA events that made things like live timing available for so many to follow. The F1000 website was well organized and updated to keep all interested parties up to date.
All of the F1000 driver/owners need to be recoginized for their dedication to the class and great car counts for the East Series. While the West Series had much lower car counts, The East Series really made for "competitive" racing events.
Now that the F1000 East Series has ended, and the West has a 2 more races remaining (August 2013) to crown their Champion, perhaps we will see a real showdown when "East meets West" drivers at the SCCA National Championships in September.
I am sure that the SCCA Nationals will provide real "competitive" racing and certainly will be exciting to watch the duel between the top drivers in the F1000 (FB) class. It should be a real battle to crown the top driver in F1000.
If 2013 was any indication of the future for the F1000 class, 2014 should be even more fun and exciting to watch.
Big Kudo's go out to Mike Beauchamp (East) and Thomas Copeland (West) and any other people (workers), for their dedication to the F1000 Class and the vast amount of time that they have dedicated without any compensation for their work efforts. There are always leaders in any company of organization, and it was so great to see these two individuals and others who step up and take control of the Championship Series.
Can't wait to see the SCCA National Championships, and the question remains, excitement builds.....
"Who will be the SCCA National Champion for F1000 Class (FB)".
Stay tuned, the F1000 racing season is not over yet.
