    Default WRD FTW!

That's For The Win, for those of you in the unknow...
Great dealings, no, GREAT dealings with Lee @ Williams Racing Diferentials.

The backstory: A few years ago they were developing a bolt in replacement dif for the RFR F1000 car which comes standard with an open diff. I was chosen to run it for a weekend at the ARRC, at which point I returned it to them with feedback.

The "difference" (!) was pretty incredible - clearly THE best mod one could do for that chassis, with power being able to be laid down much earlier on corner exit, where if you tried that with the stocker/open, you'd be met by a ton and a half of (inner) wheelspin, which doesn't contribute anything to a quicker laptime.

Here's where it gets to the FTW rating: I'm heading to CoTA earlier in the year, and my RFR supplied, Limey built unit one-off prototype has stopped working. It had been in for about 4 or 5 race weekends, and at the January Sebring Majors race just went to full lockup - if you pushed the car in the paddock and turned the steering wheel, the car would abruptly stop.

I contacted the manufacturer and was told to box it up and send it back. I did, but unfortunately was not savvy enough (I know, right?) to tic off the correct boxes on the import duty form or whateverthehell it's called, which put the dif in shipping limbo.
IIRC, the import duty back to the mannufacturer was going to be like $2000!

Great, now I'm super screwed as CoTA is coming up fast and I may have to run the stocker, AKA "One Wheel Wonder"...

I called Lee on the off chance that he had the prototype unit on the shelf and even though he knew I had been running a prototype from a different manufacturer, he DID NOT HESITATE to offer up one of his dif's for my use until such time as the other one busted out of UK Customs Jail, got repaired, and came back to me.

Fast forward a few months and still no news from the UK.

I eventually ended up purchasing the dif he sent me, and made possible a dream season of sorts, currently leading the USF1000 Championship points battle.

    Thank You WRD!

Everything I have heard about Lee and WRD is that he has a top notch operation. I look forward to one day doing business with him.
