Default 2013 June Sprints - FF

So far 16 entrants and 7 different makes for this year's June Sprints.

Can anyone challenge Mr. Kautz? Will skinny rear tires still dominate the north kettle moraine? Inquiring minds want to know.

Accuweather showing thunderstorms on Saturday, but clearer on race day Sunday.

Kautz leads the entire race, but gets nipped at the finish line by 0.02 seconds by Bamford in the Mygale. They held a comfortable gap, with third thru fifth putting on a great show behind them.

I second this. Congratulations to Jeff. Followed it on "live timing" - looked to be a great race. Very strong result for Jeff and nice to see him up in that crowd.

Does anyone know the tire combinations?

Had a great race. The car was on rails! Fought Scotty hard but got beat on a mistake by me on the last lap. Very nice to finally run some good times in the VD at Road America!

Thanks guys for the congratulations. Great race with Tim today.

I figured, after the first few corners of swapping places with Tim, I was better just to settle in behind & try to build a gap on the others.

Lew, most guys I saw were running Hoosier skinny set up.

Yep, thanks to some advice from fellow FF'ers and a few gut checks, I was able to drop my best time at RA by 7 sec. or so. First time to The Sprints and first time on track with the really fast guys. Practice and Qualifying was the only time I was able to catch a close-up glimpse of the fast FF's and man was that a treat to see them do their thing. Good fun racing with friends at that back half of the pack in the race.

After hearing about last year's rain debacle at The Sprints, I thought this years event was well run. Registration and parking was easy, great weather and accident free sessions, overall I think SCCA put on a really smooth event this year.

We're all still trying to get used to not seeing you at the track Allen. Maybe you can talk Carmen into letting you make a surprise cameo appearance for The Cat National. That would be bigger than Brett Favre coming out of retirement for the third time.

Scott was in his Citation-Kent and had the 2nd fastest race lap to Russ.

There were 25s, 35s, 45s, As, and Bs, scrubbed and stickers spread through top half dozen.

ho hum. first sprints. friday and saturday were good.. learned the track, learning the new car. got a 30.251 as fastest on friday...

Bad sway bar choice (always know what the in-car clicks REALLY mean!) towards end of qualifying on sat and for first few laps of race cooked the front left R35, or maybe something else was wrong (we'll see once its on the platform)... car pushed like crazy - lock to center with no real difference, turn 14 was a train wreck.
Static brake bias was fine, but braking was being done all by the fronts.. prob once they baked-off they weren't doing much...

Both front tires are toast, left is clearly corded and right isnt further off. Oh well. Going to use R45s until I can get the car feeling under control...

oops :-) see yas at gingerman....
