Qual;Graham 1.32.9, Greg King 1.33.2, R. Gelles 1.33.5, S.Brooks 1.33.9, D. Baggett 1.34.1,D.Burchill 1.35.4, T.Reinsel withdrew (Motor issues). I changed from wets to slicks about 10 minutes before the race because I figured the line would dry in 4 or 5 laps and if I was patient it would pay off. Well the line never dried, it was as slick as s..., I led the first 4 laps then spun and dropped back to 2nd behind Greg King who was also on slicks, then it was his turn to go off but he was not as lucky as me and was stuck in a gravel trap, Rusty Cook in his F500 with intermediates had long since blown by me and was way out front when we had a full course yellow, then the typical bunch the field up with lapped cars and throw the green with one to go! My adavantage was now gone and I couldn't get by the lapped 500's who were engaged in their own battle, so on the last lap the second place car drafted past me down the dip, I ran as deep as I could into the final esses before the bridge and Dan went a little deeper, I made the corner Dan slid wide and I was through, he recovered to finish third, a good job for him, 18yrs old never driven on slicks and first time at RA. Results; Graham, Baggett, Burchill, Gelles, King. Probably would have been better off on wets, easy to second guess that now!
