Default F1000 SAT Race Pix & Brief Recap

Hopefully as time allows you'll get the full benefit from the actual competitors in SAT's race, especially the famous "Coop Chronicles!" In the meantime, my short take. Good, clean start, with JR getting a BIG jump and setting sail into the beautiful SAT afternoon weather! (Wait until you see the few pix from SUN ) Cooper moved into 2nd, with Lawrence Loshak running a very close 3rd, and held the position for several laps, moving into 1st when JR sadly had to retire on lap 7. Lawrence got around Coop, pulling away to a .9 second win. The real battle was for the final spot on the podium between Michael Crowe and Alex Mayer, with Mayer gaining the position at race's end. Mike Beauchamp had to retire at lap 14. John Hudek was a NS due to a serious mechanical failure on SAT a.m., requiring an engine change and major work on the differential. Total of 13 entries, with 12 starters that put on a great show!

    Default SUN Race

With 6+ inches of rain SAT overnight in the area, Road Atlanta looked a lot like Lake Atlanta, but nonetheless the races were run, albeit shortened to 18 laps or 30 minutes. The F1000 group ran with the National group today. Split start with the 1000 cars taking the green 1st, followed by the FA/CSR/DSR/FM/FE group. The F1000 cars all made it safely through T1, unlike the 2nd group An FE car had a coming together with a CSR, requiring a full course yellow. Other incidents followed and the race was checkered at 6 laps, 18+ MINUTES. Lawrence got a good start and kept the lead throughout the "race", with Mayer getting around Cooper on the front straight on the last lap. Cannot say for certain, but of the 6 laps, I'm guessing only 3 were green flag. Disappointing way to end the race weekend - thanks Mother Nature !!
Podium was LOSHAK/MAYER/COOPER..........I think the few pix speak for themselves
