Fourth Annual FART FV Invitational Race

The Family Affair Racing Team is presenting its Fourth Annual Formula Vee Invitational Race at Mission Raceway Park in beautiful Mission BC Canada on August 3rd and 4th! We are also recognizing 50 years of FV. As always, there will be a complimentary dinner on the Saturday night for the Vee drivers and their crew/family – this year we’re having a pig roast! Lots of prizes too! If you wanted to get your racing fix, there is an SCCA Regional race at The Ridge on July 27 & 28, then our FART Race Aug 3/4, then a CSCC Race at Portland Aug 10/11.

We have tow money!! Courtesy of us, the Family Affair Racing Team, each driver that tows his/her own car will receive $50 for every state or province you go through to get to BC (including Vancouver Island residents). For example, if you’re coming from California, you would get $150.00 Canadian cash! We do offer Vee rentals, (only three cars left), but you would not be eligible for the tow money.

Also, this year we are shaking things up a bit and are introducing the TEAM CHALLENGE! By random draw, all drivers will be matched up into teams of two. The team with the most combined points at the end of the weekend will be the winners, so you still want to race hard individually and get as many points as possible. If a team member’s car breaks down during the weekend…well…that’s racing, but you should still race for as many points as possible.

There is no gas available at the track, but there is a Chevron with 94 octane nearby.
Accommodations: The Best Western Plus, Mission City Lodge (across the highway from the track) offers special rates for drivers. Just ask for the “Racer’s Rate”.

All vees are welcome and tire choice is yours! Last year we had 28 cars with awesome racing all throughout the field! Come out and enjoy some great people and great racing! We have PRIZE MONEY!! Thank you to the Sports Car Club of BC for giving us $1,000.00 for prize money! So....who's planning on coming and joining our racing Family? Last year we had 28 Vees! Mission Raceway is only 2 hours north of Seattle, 5 hrs north of Portland, 7 hours from Spokane, 13 hours from Thunderhill Raceway....and remember you get $50 for every state or province you tow your car through to get to BC!

We would like to include driver profiles in our program for that weekend, so if you could send me an email with the following info: Number of years racing; Location of first race; How did you get started; What do you race now; Greatest racing memory; Advice for those looking to get started in racing; Anything else you would like to add.
Please also send me a picture of your race car and a head shot. Could you also please let me know how many people will be with you (we need to know how big of a pig to get for dinner).

Fantastic weekend of racing! Congratulations to Gavin Sweeney and Bob Williams for winning the team challenge (combined points), Quinn Posner and Walt Carrel taking second place and Jim McAdie and Martin Phillips taking third place! Paul Higgins won Saturday's race and Quinn Posner won Sunday's race. Thank you to all our sponsors, especially SCCBC for giving us $1000 prize money and California Import Parts for giving us over $1500 worth of vee parts to give away. Also, Driver's Edge, Snap On Tools, G3 Racing, NecksGen, TNT Signs, Hyack Trophies. We had 23 cars this year and hope to see more next year at our 5th Invitational Race! Nice drive by Paul. Great video too. How did you get the gopros placed and turned on for the race? During Downtime between sessions possibly?

I'm not sure, but I think Andrei sets up the cameras in the morning and then checks them at lunch. They've added an aerial camera so hopefully they'll film next year's FART race from the air as well!
