    Default VIR 3 weeks away

With a mere 3 weeks from today until test day at VIR gets the 2013 season underway the entry list currently stands at 27.
It includes many drivers new to F1600 Formula F Championship Series, new cars, new teams, the institution of a Masters Class for a race within a race for the 40 and up drivers, it all is looking good.
One week from now, Thursday March 28, the full entry list will be posted here and on the series website.

From some high end pro teams i have heard great reviews about this dining experience:

    Yancey House Restaurant & Gallery
    699 US Hwy 158 West
    PO Box 1807
    Yanceyville, NC 27379

    Email: lucindy@yanceyvillage.com

    Business336) 694-4225

The Yancey House Restaurant and Gallery is a finalist in the Best Dish in North Carolina 2009 contest sponsored by NC Dept. of Agricultural and Our State Magazine. The restaurant, once the residence (c.1807) of early 19th century Congressman Bartlett Yancey, offers dining in an historic, relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Featuring dishes with a Southern "awareness", Chef Lucindy Willis, Ph.D. adjusts the menu seasonally, working closely w/local farmers and growing her own vegetables and herbs to provide only the freshest produce available. Inspiration for the dishes comes from the owners' Texas and Louisiana roots, the local farming community and from the slow food movement, an eco-gastronomic movement that celebrates the slow life with food. Sad, too, is the closing of Fender's.

But there's a place called Jake's on Main I'd like to try....

geez there is an Outback Steak house and then half a block up a Texas Steak House off of 58 in Danville. Do you really need any other choices ?? Outback even delivers to the Holiday Inn Express. Great deal really.

    Default Food?

The racing season is about to start and all you can talk about is food?

OK Steve, and anyone else salivating at the thought of the entry lists for both F1600 and F2000, Monty is, perhaps as I type, posting the F1600 entry list on the series website, www.f1600series.com.
    F2000 in a few minutes at www.f2000series.com.

    Mike,

Are we running the same weight for the Masters Class, 1100 lbs? Looking at the list of Masters from what I can see most are on the fit side compared to some of the F2000 Masters drivers.

Steve, same weights for masters as non-masters in both F1600 and F2000.
You are on your own dealing with the F2000 Masters my friend !

OK great, thought there was an extra 25 lbs in F2000...thankfully same weight for both. Makes more sense to me.

Sadly we will not be there, another year of too much going on in real life.

However, Dennis will be at VIR taking pictures for the Series and TJ will hopefully be able to join him once he is done with college. So we will get our family racing fix through them until we can be back at the track again with everyone.

I was looking for Bill on the entrant list & was thinking I would see the name there. Hopefully maybe sometime during the year the 1st ever series champ can make an appearance.

Thanks Steve. Best hope would have been Lime Rock but his wife is due to deliver their first baby the week of that race. LJ is understanding but not THAT understanding!

BTW Steve, congrats on all the success this year already. You and Greg really have the Mygale flying and you have really moved your driving up to another level. Best of luck for the rest of the season in both classes.

    Default VIR 3 weeks away

Thanks, Greg has been working extremely hard to improve the whole package which has helped me immensely.

The competition level increases greatly come VIR though but that is what we are looking forward to. Seems like another talent field of drivers & teams in both 1600 & the 2000 series.

Not ours...too much of a brick in a straight line to spend the money. We love the series though and if $$ were a little better we might still show up at some point in the year.
