    Default New F1000

I thought I should post some photos of my F1000 I designed and is currently under construction. This project is way behind schedule due to other circumstances. It all takes time as I am doing all the fabrication of chassis and suspension A-Arms as well as all the machining of all suspension components. I am currently working on the body plugs and molds.

With regard to engines, what would be the next best alternative to the Suzuki GSXR 1000? They seem to be getting difficult to get hold of unless I purchase a complete used bike, remove what I need and sell the rest.

Very nice. That's a lot of triangulation. Sweet looking body, head surround. Looks strong, stiff, fast

    Default Chain adjustment?

How will you adjust the chain?

Looks like shims of varying thicknes between the diff mount blocks and the main frame mounts.

Looks good. I think that the rules will require you to box in the Lower Front A-Arm mounts to prevent intrusion, even with anti-intrusion bars. It looks like you have some kind of aluminum bracket there, so the rules may not absolutely require it, but it is still a very good idea.

Default Chain adjustment, maybe a eccentric diff mount ?

    Really don't see that.

Maybe there is some type of eliptical eccentric on the diff like the Phoenix? I always thought that was a slick design.

Clearly not your first rodeo. It looks very well thought out.

Adjustment is made by shims between the diff mount and the frame.

The lower A-arm mounting will be boxed in. They are not shown in this photo.

Does this mean you are machining your own (own design) uprights?

The uprights are my own design and I also machined them from aluminum as well as the suspension rockers, pedals, and suspension inboard mounts.

The A-arms are made from 1.25 od 4130 tubing, pressed to an oval shaped profile.

It's great to see someone else going through the stages I'm going through. Looks like you're a bit ahead of me... You should try to skip the stage I'm going through now, the "laid up in bed for a week with the flu" stage, though. (;-( .

It is a lot of work. I am always asked, why don't I buy a car, well half the challenge is designing and building the car as well as racing it.

You have already put in a lot of time into yours, so keep up the good work.

Does anyone know if the BMW I4 can handle the g-forces and not have oiling problems?
