    Default FIR Main Revised Configuration

Very low EFF turnout this holiday weekend but the three of us who showed were at one point covered by only 0.3 seconds. Perfect racing weather. I love the new configuration they set up for FIR Main but kinda hope it never gets run again so my lap record will stand. The two brothers got pretty racy by the end of Sunday:

I think I finally stopped laughing a good 10 minutes after we reached the paddock.

    tim,
back in 1989 I used to roadrace motorcycles with AMACCS.
we used the"bleacher turn" that you refer to.
IMo it was great with bikes because we could accelrate really fast, and the passing point that became the slow left on the exit was cool.

cars seem to like the speed so nobody uses that in cars it appeared, but truth be told the old way people dont really like being passed with that concrete wall loomimg on the left either.

one other configuration we did back then was to have a hairpin turn at the 2/3 point of the font straight. they would insert the hairpin turn from "bridge to bridge", and eliminate the enitire south loop.
i got to find out what happens when you grab way too much front brake on a bike going really fast towards a hairpin corner; cars are so much nicer to just slide, rather than hit the ashpalt.

Nice save Tim! (in the vid..)

Ken must have got the idea from the play day last month. The Mazda guys were doing the same thing every lap.
