    Default PBIR Winter Rational

Congratulation to Lewis Cooper III with his win today & jimmy on his wise racecraft at the end to keep me in his mirrors. Good race by all & lots of clean passing moves overall by slower & quicker traffic.

    1st Lewis Cooper III - 1.21.403
    2nd James Goughary - 1.21.831
    3rd Steve Bamford - 1.21.322

    Default Coming soon ..........!

    All Hoosiers (Avon)

Good~Year has dropped FF tires from the catalog/product codes -Engineers at Sebring said we are all "... all done ...." (existing inventory only) and the decision is irreversible.

Did I miss something here? When did Hoosier become part of Avon? Or was something else meant by the above?

And no more Goodyear FF tires, ever? That's pretty big news, if true...?

Once again LC3 wins at PBIR over Goughary. Jimmy was closing the gap as traffic became a bit of an issue during the race but ran out of laps in the end. Congratulations to Lew once again that is 3 wins & one 2nd in the Florida races. Tough man to beat & he set a new track record today in the process.

    2nd James Goughary - 1.21.719
    3rd Steve Bamford - 1.21.870

Default Yup True ....! and AVON

There is existing stock .... but I personally spoke to Eric of Goodyear Competition Tire South AND two engineers at Sebring, FF tire are NOT in the existing product number and in fact Good~Year only sent a skeleton crew to mostly service spec racers and GT-1 to PBIR as most of CTS was at Daytona for Sprint Cup Testing ---

AVON tires (narrow fronts and rears) were used by LC3 - four (4) USA Dealers - Ca. (2) Il. and Va.

Background/FYI - Avon Tyres Motorsport is the competition tyre department of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd based at its European headquarters in Melksham, UK. Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd is a subsidiary of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company of Findlay, Ohio, USA.

    Default Goodbye Goodyear

Wow, that is news, at least to me. Thanks for clarification, both on the Goodyear and Avon points. Sorry to see GY go, as they've done a (mostly) good job for us out here. But, much as I like Hoosier, they need some competition to keep them honest, just like anybody else. Hopefully Avon will do that. They (Avon) do make some great tires, especially on the Vintage side.

Probably needs to go into a separate thread, but I'd like to hear any feedback from those who've tried the current Avon FF's?
