A tip of the hat must go to Jimmy Simpson who entered his first SCCA National and second ever SCCA race on Saturday and won in Formula Atlantic. Of course I am claiming total credit for this success as I helped them find a rather tired(but cheap) Swift 008. The motor in the car has not been touched by the last three owners and must be way down on power, I am surprised it has not blown up yet, credit Paul Hasselgren! In his karting career Jimmy used to beat up on Josef Newgarden and Connor Daily at NewCastle Raceway that is owned by Atlantic legend Mark Dismore. Last few years Jimmy has raced USAC pavement midgets and local dirt 410 non-wing sprintcars. edit: I understand from Jimmy that official results placed Grant in first and Jimmy second, still an impressive "debut" in SCCA roadracing.
