Default FST Series - 2013 Season

I wanted to post some thoughts about FST and the FST series as some may think of our series as a small group of wannabe racers in "souped-up" FV's. I'd like to post some stats to best inform those interested in our racing that FST and our series is well established and it is competitive.
    • The first FST hit the track in June of 2002, 11 years ago
    • The FST Series started in 2005, the 2013 season will crown our 9th champion
    • There have been (57) FST built that have been in competition
    • Of those (57) cars, (42) have competed in the FST Series
    • From 2005 through 2012, FST Series races average 10.6 entries per race
    • The FST Series races at some of the best tracks in North America (Road America, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, Grattan, Nelson Ledges, Blackhawk Farms, Waterford Hills, The Milwaukee Mile, Gingerman, ect)
    • The series commonly holds events in (3) SCCA Divisions, CenDiv, Great Lakes and NEDiv, but we have hosted in SEDiv for the ARRC at Road Atlanta
    • With Hoosier as our series title sponsor, we have awarded over (200) tires to our competitors
    • As for competition level, many of our drivers are Runoffs veterans
    • At least twice per season, FST gets its own race group for the weekend (no class mixing)
    • FST rules established and stable, not one rule change since SCCA put us in the GCR in 2009
    • FST as a series is "courted" each year by host Regions. Our attendance to many events is requested as we are looking for series dates.
We are a tight knit group of racers. We paddock together and support each other make sure our cars all get on the track. Most of all, we are very focused on a competitive, fun racing weekend.

With all these ongoing changes in the club racing format, it should be good to know that a lower cost option for a focused, fun, open wheel race weekend is available.

We're like a "Rand-a palooza" wannabe series, but for a whole bunch less money.

As a side note, Congratulations to Newbie Bill Bonow for completing his first 30 years in SCCA.

Thanks Dave, I hope I have passed the SCCA audition.

We have a schedule almost complete, need to communicate with one more host region and we'll announce the official schedule for The 2013 Hoosier Tire Formula First Championship Series
