Wings are for aeroplanes and Red Bull marketing

McMahon Raceworks FB/FA/F??? mothballed for now
Does this mean the UK is adopting this rule set for all of their FF racing, or just the pro support series for the BTCC mentioned in the Autosport article ? If it is a wholesale switch, gads, what a move! Seems to me they were still on radial tires not long ago, and now to go to 200 hp and wings in a single step? If anyone knows the answer to where and which venues will see this generation of FF's, please enlighten us.
But sacre bleu or not, it probably does make for a more relevant platform for the next group of F1'ers to get ther feet wet, but it seems hardly the place to learn the basics of momentum driving, mechanical grip, or other fundamental racing building blocks. Maybe you don't need any of that anymore to drive today's high-end stuff, but I dunno. If they don't get it in FF, where will they get it? FV's' still got all that stuff in spades, but unfortunately has hardly been a stepping stone to stardom for the last 20 or so years.
At the end of the day, though, the car sounds like it would be a blast to drive, and ignoring the purchase price of ??, probably at a cost-to-run not much greater than what we spend now on FF... But with all that HP and wings, why didn't they at least put FC-sized wheels and tires on it??! While a cool looking car in the photo, that aspect looks a little silly, IMO.
