Does anyone know if Hunter Cestoni has an FB or was just renting one for a single race? Also I came across Jared Bayer and Jordan Taylor. Does anyone know if they are still involved in FB? Jerry Freeman says he thinks there are 5 FB cars in the Midwest council, does anyone know anything about them?

No, they're not. Jordan Taylor is doing some sort of professional racing...

Thanks, the list and map took very little of my time. Looking at the map I figure the best central location west coast shoot-out would be NV and the best for the east coast (Texas east) would be TN. The best combined east coast/ west coast shoot out is KS or MO. Just interesting to visualize the FB community.

I think Slayer is in MD, but I guess it could be VA.

I raced against Hunter Cestoni at RdA in July. He was in a Phoenix, but I thought he rented it from Robinson Motorsports. I've killed a few weak brain cells since then.

...and just like NASCAR that has their "Superbowl" at the beginning of the year (and about the same time), there's no rule sayin' we can't have the COTA weekend in March as our first round...

Still pushing that FC you saw.

You (Glen) and a couple of others were kind enough to give me some info on a Novak conversion.
Would like to know how many hours are involved in going from '98 Pinto FC to a complete Novak conversion.

I will join the FB ranks, if not this year, certainly next year.

Nice job John Paul getting the list together. I have a list of West Coast drivers I've been maintaining the last two years. If I had seen this post earlier I could have added a few, but it looks like you got it covered. Like the map too.

I don't think I can actually give you a very precise answer, as I was the owner of the first production kit, and as such had to figure out a bunch of stuff for myself, such as oil cooler size and location, plumbing, drysump tank (turns out I nailed that one - tall and skinny is the way to go), heat shield for fuel cell, frame bracing, difuser mounting, blah blah.

There have been a lot of very detailed posts in regard to doing this, so I'd venture to say that if you got all the parts lined up ahead of time, the actual disassembly of the pinto is pretty quick (split the car, and roll the back half away), and then get busy w/ the FThou kit... A few complete weekends ought to do it.

BTW - The kit you were looking at from Michael Crowe has been sold as the complete car. I'm not aware of any other Novak kits available, but don't let that and the fact that my signature on here is "All Knowing One" - there might be one in a barn somewhere!

This should give you a pretty good idea what it takes. It could be done much faster now that I have all the engineering and components figured out.

Up to 72 cars/drivers right now and judging from all the PM's I'm getting and all the people I don't have info on as of yet there are at least another 10 cars out there and 10-15 (maybe more) that are currently being built (this is US only). I'd say by the 2014 season there will be close to 100 FB cars in the country. That is wayyyy more than I ever thought. Awesome class now we just need to get organized to strengthen the class and race participation.. I thinking a FB drivers/owners club. Anyone out there willing to start it up???

I am here at the Circuit of the America's for the USGP, and all I can think about is how can we get a F1000 race at the COTA? With our entire community of FB owners, does anyone else have any interest?

I would and I know a few other F1000 guys that are going. Word is that there are talks between the EAST and WEST coast series to possibly do a race at COTA but there are not plans as of yet. It's a long haul for everyone and the entry fees are $700+, so if we wanted to try and pay for a separate race it's going to be pretty expensive (I'd pay it). Plus the following weekend is Road Atlanta Double National so there may be a lot of people thinking about that race. If we can get a serious show of hands from everyone that would commit to COTA I bet Mike B. and Thomas C. can probably make it happen. I'd think we need at least 15 cars to show. Shouldn't be too hard.....right??

I would go if a car hauler with room for my car was going there from the South East area....

Too far for my truck- and too expensive. It would probably burn $2000 in gas alone.

I knew a guy who delivered a car to Odessa from Tampa- said Houston was half way.

Default COTA Wow!

Just watched F1 Q and COTA looks to be the most state of the art circuit in America. First class facilities, Modern, FIA curbs, elevation changes, slow and fast, enough paint peripheral to the track to make it feel like you are racing live in a video game and Austin would be a fun town to play.

Travel for me from KY is 16 hours plus to Austin. Hmmmm Sebring is 13ish. PBIR more. Austin to Atlanta is about 16 hours plus. Hmmm I have been considering Sebring and PBIR Winter Nationals and was planning for Atlanta anyway. If you have to make a choice, maybe COTA and Road Atlanta make better sense two weeks back to back. Sorry to be thinking out loud here on APEX. But, I'm thinking Austin might just very well be a nice spring vacation followed by my favorite track Road Atlanta.

Hmmm! I think I am in!

Sorry as I may have to skip getting my molars shaken out at Sebring in 2013.

COTA is a must for the future Runoffs track.

Who scheduled a race of that caliber in the middle of the ski season?

On a serious note, can a small timer like me with a regional license run at COTA in Feb? If so, I'll be there.

We received getting some great early interest, everyone that is reading this that knows other F-1000 Drivers please reach out to them and notify them of this thread,

Racing experience is a must for everyone to enjoy themselves, in a safe and competitive event... But we are not looking for drivers with an FIA Super License.
