    Default North American Engine Rebuilders...

I found this old 2004 thread (http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10555) in the Atlantic section about the locations of engine rebuilders. I'm wondering if any other Apexers can expand on this?

I know some of the big names like Ilmor Engineering in Michigan, Roush Yates in Carolina, and the mid-sized McLaren Performance Tuning (MPT) in Michigan, Quicksilver in Maryland, or even smaller Alpine-America in Montreal.

But I'm sure there are many other engine rebuilders throughout the continent in different regions which some of you Apexers send your engines too. I would like to comprise a list of all high-end engine rebuilders in North America.

    Default Rebuilder Contact Information?...

...almost 200 views but only 1 response with a list of engine rebuilders? I'm sure there are many more out there. Do state the ones you know with a website link if available and contribute to this list to make it grow which will only help everyone else here on Apex for future references.

Negative! That' a pretty complete list. There are those who might specialize a bit more - I.e. William Engine who specialize in FF/F2Lt - but that's a pretty comprehensive list of the upper-end builders in the US. If you want to to add the big guys - Bob Slade, Phil Reily, Chuck Cornelison, Ted Wenz, Peter Marcovici - you can but they deal with the larger vintage motors (DFV, DFX, etc.)

I would surmise that most of these guys would not want to mess with the F3 engines. Bertils is apparently out of the game.

really? I'm quite surprised, I thought that there would be more of them around. Does anyone have the contact information for Elite and Jennings? I have been looking around for a website but can't find one.

Seems simple enough! I was searching before, not sure why they didn't come up? thanks Charlie.

So then this is the Top 10 Engine Rebuilders (in no particular order) in North America for high-end racing engines, I'm taking it. If anyone else thinks of another whom is good, please contribute.

    Default none in canada?

it seems that all are located in the US (except of course for the Alpine-America), and just one in Canada? seems odd though...

Jay's a great engine builder, no doubt---but he's looking for a list of those respected builders building high-end engines.

I would think the question is whether or not these guys would want to stock the required parts and go to the trouble of developing an F3 engine program. Even though the engines are not sealed it still takes a lot of development and infrastructure to work up a special engine program for just a few engines.

Mr. CF3C, what engine builder in Canada have you been using to rebuild the motors on your cars?

We just started to ship the 1st car here this past spring, and 2 more will imported by Christmas time as we're working on those now. So we never needed a rebuild yet on any engines, and they're coming here fresh.

But since these engines are so reliable up to 6,000 mile rebuild intervals, I don't foresee us needing one anytime soon. I have already contacted a few rebuilders off that list trying to find the most suitable ones, need more options in Canada.

I wouldn't say Jay Ivey isn't a "high-end" engine builder, I'd say Jay Ivey is a smart business man...

    ^^^ Absolutely ^^^

My "high-end" comment referred to the "engine" not the "builder"
