    Default Volkswagen Formula 3 Engine...

FIA regulations put such a huge emphasis in the tiny Air Restrictor tube. Many manufacturers and teams rue these rules and wish the air tube was a much larger diameter. This is why some Formula 3 Championship break away from being a true FIA sanctioned Series.

The German, Italian and Spanish Formula 3 Championships specifically have their own air restrictor rules which open diameters up to 32 mm from the normal 26 mm. This way you allow the engine to breath alot more, generate more power, and extend longer engine reliability.

You can get 235 hp out of a Formula 3 engine without stressing its components to increased failure or shorter engine life. Fiat Powertrain Technologies is doing it now in their EVO engine for the Italian Formula 3 Championship. And we will follow the lead of these other franchises mentioned above.
