I was looking through the results from today's race and it was interesting. Michael was turning some wicked fast lap times with a best of 2:21.171. That is 0.3s fast than the FF fast race lap. Looking at trap speeds though they are several MPH lower than the best trap speeds from last years qualifying (last years race was in the rain). Were the trap speeds calculated differently this year compared to last year? My understanding was Michael broke the track record for F500 by a couple of seconds. Accomplishing that with slower trap speeds means he put on one hell of a drive! I wonder if he would have been even faster if he had someone pushing him. Either way, hats off to Michael for a great drive. The race for 2 through 5 was pretty exciting. Sucks the lapped traffic precipitated the incident with Brent getting bumped and spun out.
