Default Elder Morgan drubs ex-national champ

Dateline; Homestead Florida. Sunday, September 16, 2012

Jim Morgan, driving a seriously wore-out 1991 Swift DB6-jl, soundly defeated JR2 in the penultimate race leading up to the SARRC Invitational Championships. JR2 was driving his brand new 2012 Piper/Honda on fresh tires.
To rub salt in the wound, Morgan was using the tires JR2 had used up at the pro race at VIR over a year and a half ago. Jim said on the podium, in between swallows of bubbly, " I knew those fantastic 24 cycle Hoosiers would not let me down, they held air all last night." Morgan thanked his son Cole (2007 F2kCS Champion) for being stationed in Germany and not being around to bother him with gibberish of proper lines and braking points. While on the podium the elder statesman of Morgan Homes Racing thanked James Lee, Charles Finelli, and Robert Mondovi.

The battle for the 2012 SARRC Championship in Formula F will now play out it final chapter at the hallowed Roebling Road Raceway on October 7th.

Word from Lighthouse Point is that Morgan is attempting to secure the services of Chief Hubert Bearcat of the Seminole Nation. Morgan met Bearcat at the Seminole casino in Davie, and soon learned that Bearcat was world famous for divining rain through a series of spectacular raindances performed with girls from the YeeHaw Junction Hooters. Morgan is hoping with the help of Bearcat and hastily recruited girls from the Hooters next door to the Shell House in Savannah, he can produce 4 to 6 inches of rain on October 7th.

JR2 refused to be interviewed, walking away muttering something about Morgan having gotten his license at Costco on senior citizens night...

There were reports that Jim drove the whole way home from Homestead to Lighthouse point with his left turn signal on... going 10 under in the fast lane.

OK what's the rest of the story? Didn't JR win by a lap on Saturday and qualify 4 seconds faster on Sunday?

Although Frog does take some "poetic license" it was not a lap on saturday for the second and Sunday was a wet race. I qualified poorly all weekend mostly to "save" my 25 heat cycle tires. 3 year old rains felt like stickers JR outbraked himself and the tortoise got the hare.

Matt thanks for the kind words that I ever could produce.

    Default Excuse me...

I am highly insulted at the insistence that Morgan is in a "wore out" db-6. This was my back up for the pro series. It was identical (except motor) to my .005 sec. from winning the inaugural F1600 series race. Morgan has not had it long enough to screw it totally up and James does keep an eye on it.
But congratulations to Jim he won fair and square. The worst part was to watch how well his car worked in the rain compared to mine.... Enough to motivate me to open the box frm Prince and start hanging corners...

    John,

I get my news in bits and spurts. Now, i just found out you left Homestead with a bloody nose and broken hand. I was tempted to turn those facts into some juicy rumor. I'm just glad you made it to work today... where it is safer.

And, OBTW my field reporter did sort of leave out a few details from Saturday. His short term memory is going.

Did you check to see if he remembered to put the restrictor back in?
