Default The Ted Powell Memorial Weekend at Calabogie

This weekend we are indeed in for some close racing as both the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship and the Quebec Formula Tour 1600 will be running together at the beautiful Calabogie Motorsports Park. It is the only joint race of the year and promises to be exciting. MCO is organising the event and always puts together a great weekend. Looking forward to seeing the inter-provincial battle.

Should be one of the better attended and contended FF races in North America. Too bad Newey and his Mygale are skipping this round but still have a great mix of kents and Hondas on a track where nobody has a home-track advantage.

What a great event with a mix of Toyo Tire F1600 Ontario group & Formula Tour 1600 Quebec group all coming to one event to race together. Car counts of 29 cars F1600's for one event was great to see.

Hopefully the two series can work together to have more events like this in the future. I don't think there were any entrances who opposed the turn out having the two groups run together.

Congratulations to all the winners, competitors & most importantly all the event organizers & track workers for making it a great weekend.

Yes, thanks to all that were involved in running the MCO weekend.

Our team personally has a number of people to thank besides the workers and volunteers who put on what had to be a challenging event.

We had terminal problems with our car on Saturday and Steve Bamford made available his second FF1600 car to us for Sunday . Many thanks to Steve, and Greg, at Rice Race Prep. Michael was able to score a 3rd place finish and set 2nd fastest lap of the race, having only sat in the car on Sunday morning. An excellent car that was well set up and ready to race.

Thanks also to Britain West Motorsport for their usual patience and help.

    Saturday
    Nathon Blok (QC-1st)
    Charles Leclerc (QC-2nd)
    Keenan Harris (OFFC-1st)
    J-P Jodoin (OFFC-2nd-QC-3rd)
    Jesse Lezare (OFFC-3rd)
    (29 starters-29 finishers)

    Sunday
    Nathon Blok (QC-1st)
    Jesse Lezare (OFFC-1st)
    Sergio Pasian (OFFC-2nd, QC-2nd)
    Michael Adams (OFFC-3rd)
    (7th) Marc-Antoine Cardin (QC-3rd)
    (26 starters-26 classified finishers-only Keenan trackside)

With Keenan's OFFC win Saturday, after 10 rounds, we have wins by 99-newer VD (2), 97 VD(2), 92 VD (3), Piper (3). Six drivers have won races. Ford-powered cars have won 5 and Honda-powered cars have won 5. We have also had Mygale and Swift score podium positions. Pretty cool!

Software is slow but slideshow works great. Good-looking field of cars.
