formula ford vintage racing

Anyone know of any group that run vintage races anywhere near Phoenix AZ.... I would like my daughter that lives in Phoenix to be able to come to a race to see me... Early or late fall of this year..

It's been a while since VARA ran here in town but if you're coming this far it's not much more to California or Las Vegas.

What we do have is the EFF group http://www.eformulaford.com/ running everything from vintage to fairly modern hardware on Yokohama street radials to pretty well equalize us all (well, equalize our potential - some of us are just naturally slower than others).

We run with ProAutoSports http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=135 who have an event scheduled for Labor Day down at INDE in Wilcox, AZ. The weather should begin to cool up here for our local events from October on.

You wouldn't have to put on our tires to come out and sample what we do, especially since we routinely share the track with a couple of FCs. Whether you'd find somebody with exactly your lap times to race with is an open question..

HSR West will be running "The Series" at Chuckwalla Nov 16 - 18. Chuckwalla is just inside the California boarder on Interstate 10. By Western standards, a short drive from Phoenix. Very good competitive Vintage Ford/Club Ford/Modern Ford racing. They will be using American Racers, or Dunlop, (your choice) If you have any questions, PM me.
