    Default Dixon makes it three

    Dixon makes it three

After capturing the Sunoco Pole Award with a qualifying time of 1:16.243, it was Brandon Dixon in his Citation/Suzuki to once again come out the Winner in Round 3 of the Formula 1000 Championship Series presented by Goodyear.

Starting from the outside of row one, JR Osborne in the Stohr Cars/C3 Construction Stohr/Suzuki would get a jump on Dixon for the lead. It was a hard fought battle and Osborne held off a hard charging Dixon until lap 8.

Glenn Cooper in the Hell No Kitty / RFR Firman/Suzuki finished out the podium after starting fifth in the 20 lap race.

Jason Slahor in his Van Diemen/Suzuki captured the Rilltech Hard Charger Award after starting in 12th position and finishing in 4th place. Alex Mayer rounded out the top five in his Elan DP-04/Suzuki.

The race went green all the way through with the only casualty being Brian Novak who started from outside the second row in his Nova Piper/Suzuki, when the gearbox case cracked spiting out all the engine oil and resulting in a brief engine fire and a 12th place finish.

Area 81 Racing teammates Richard Franklin (Stohr/Suzuki) and Tim Pierce (Firman/Suzuki) finished 6th and 7th respectfully in their Waterfall Security Solutions entries. New comer Ivin Seabrook would finish in 8th place in his Stohr/Suzuki with Canadian Ryan Verra claiming a season best 9th place finish in a Philidelphia Motorsports DB-F1000/Honda.

Bill McLaughlin rounded out the top ten in his McLaughlin Motorsports/RFR/AIM/Pro-Shift Firman/Suzuki with Peter Seabrook in his Stohr/Suzuki finishing in 11th place.

Qualifying for Sunday's race was determined by the fastest race lap of each car in Round three with the following results:
