DIXON LOOKS TO MAKE IT FOUR IN A ROW IN NEW JERSEY

Cape Coral, FL (June 4, 2012) – Thirteen drivers are entered for the F1000 Grand Prix of New Jersey this coming weekend. All of them are looking to end the win streak produced by Brandon Dixon at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in May.

Three new drivers have entered the Series. Brothers Peter and Ivin Seabrook, who call New Jersey Motorsports Park home and Bill McLaughlin from Mooresville, IN.

Roswell, Georgia’s Glenn Cooper is looking to top the podium this weekend after coming off two strong second place finishes in Canada. JR Osborne is also looking to overcome engine issues incurred in the second round of the Championship after posting a respectable third place finish in Round one.

Other notable drivers include Brian Novak and Jason Slahor who captured the Rilltech-Astra cars Hard charger awards in Canada.

Now that the series is back in the US and in an area not limited by communication gaps, is live timing and scoring going to be available?

Theres not much track time this weekend. According to the schedule on the site there isn't even a morning warmup prior to the race on Saturday or Sunday.

    Good luck to all!

    4 in a row? That's possible. 6? No way.

Hopefully, but I wouldn't hold your breath. The first race is still not up on the SpeedcastTV website yet.
Also, I am wondering why there is no coverage of the series on eformulacarnews.com, there was a banner for awhile for the series but none now and no coverage of the first race. That's a bummer, they do a good job with the other Pro Series races.

I think that all of us were expecting at least one Kawasaki this time.

Maybe at VIR but definitely at Mid Ohio. My first time out will be Friday at a Lime Rock Regional.

It is listed on Race Monitor if the live timing link doesn't pan out.

SpeedcastTV is still working on our site, so live timing & scoring won't be up on our site for NJ, sorry. It will be by VIR. Getting all the bugs worked out so we have a great site for everyone to watch. Remember, this is our first year so things take a while and we want to do it right.

Just watched the rough version (without graphics) of the Mosport Round 1 race last night. Speedcast did a great job and I think everyone will really like it.

Doing a different style version for NJ to compare with mainly in-car video and announcer voice over and interviews.

Please be patient and I think you will enjoy the shows.

As far as eformulacarnews goes, that was my fault for not providing a story right after the race for their coverage. I was too tied up with everything else going on for our first event. When we got back into the states, we blew a spark plug out of the head of our motorhome in NY and had to nurse it all the way back to FL. They eventually got the story, but late. We'll be much more timely in NJ. As far as a banner ad goes, we're working on a new one that we will have up on their site in July.

As I stated before, this is our first year. There is much to do in running a series and our first priority is putting on a great event for our teams, which I think we have done. Coverage of our events is second in priority and we are working on that to make it more timely for all our fans. So give us a little break, its not like we've had this series up and running for several years. We've got some bugs to work out, but I believe you'll be happy with the shows we are producing.

I think for anyone following your series live T+S or a live Twitter feed along with live audio, like f2k, is preferred to video 2-3 wk. later...of course I can only really speak for myself but it appears that other posters to this thread and the one that covered the Mosport rounds might be trying to tell you the same thing...video is good but once the race is run interest quickly wanes, IMO...I have a DVR full of unwatched racing to attest to this

We are running the chicane at T3 so it is not the same as last weekend. I think the times from last weekend got posted here somewhere.

    Thanks Josh,

No BB but it appears you can run it through Windows Live. I'll try that for the race.

Brandon looks unstoppable. There is another 250 in prize money towards the race kittie.

After Mosports $7500 and two sets of tires and another possible $7500 and two sets of tires after this weekend, he could afford one of those fancy motors refreshed by a pro. Of course, there is tow money on top of that. Good for him.

    Thanks for sharing.

Wow. That is impressive. It's had to believe Brandon is so much faster than some seriously fast guys. It would be interesting to see a data overly to highlight where Brandon and his car excel.

We should start a new "How is Brandon cheating?" thread. :-).

The part where Brandon and his car excel compared to everyone else is referred to as the "race track."

My educated guess as an engineer is that Brandon may be carrying more speed in the corners and also on the straights. I could be wrong though.

I'm going to let everyone in on the secret:

During qualifying, when Osborne briefly took pole with the 18.2, Brandon and I decided to pause our game of Words with Friends on our iPhones until qualifying was over. That's when Brandon did the 16.2, then he got out the car, grabbed his phone, and threw down "australopithecus," hitting both Triple Word Scores simultaneously. I then tried to play "pwned," but it was rejected.

    Let me think...

    Great initial chassis design,
    add lots of serious engineering,
    add high quality machined parts,
    collect tons of data,
then know how to analyze the data,
pile on attention to every detail,
put a mature driver in the seat....

    Yep... that's cheatin'

    PF,

You left out chemistry. Having a consistent crew member such as Wren, that is there every time the car hits the track just catalyzes the effort. It is not very often you find a team that is tune with each other like Brandon and Wren. These guys almost read each other's minds.

Man this track is seriously twisted! I'm not many laps in, having a total of maybe a dozen laps from the two morning practice sessions, running Mosport race rubber, throwing some adjustments and gearing change into it for session two, and missing most of that running into problems...
For the afternoon one and only Q the car feels like an animal on fresh skins, and the times were definitely going to come down. On my one and only flyer I came up on one of the newer drivers, running a car new to him for this one event only. As we approach the bridge, a place where you are flat up through the gears, he lifts massively, riiiiight as I am about to pop out to go by(e).
It was a pretty solid ass packing - spun hime right round, took out my front nose, wing, damper cover which flew off and landed in the track, shiny side up , juuust off line and NO ONE ran it over - mirrors still attached and not broken, beat THAT!
Further inspection back in the paddock revealed a tweaked/creased left lower A arm as well.
I will have it all together for Race 1 tomorrow at 1:20pm.
I managed to pull off a 1:20.4 on the lap prior to the hit, good enough for 5th on the grid.
The flyer I was on was much quicker - most likely well into the 18's, yet still off the Dixon pole of 1:16.2
    Mucho trabajo manana... mucho trabajo.

    GC
