    Default Gears for Road America

Seeing how this is my first year in this class and will be my first visit to Road America with the FB can anyone recommend a starting point for gearing?

    Thank you.

    16/47 should work for you.

Gear the thing to be pulling around 12-12,250 going into Canada, T12.
This way you'll have a bit left over if you catch a draft off an Atlantic (not being driven to it's potential)!

It will depend on your rear tire size.

16/47 comes out to about 2.94:1. Seems a little short for Road America. Wouldn't 16/45, or 16/44 be more in the ball park?

Several variables, tire size, max rpm and such but you may find it better to drop 1 or 2 teeth on the rear to 16/46 or 16/45. As stated earlier gear for your entry to turn 12.
