    Default Nelson Ledges Double National

Currently there are 18 Vees registered for Nelson Ledges this coming weekend. Next biggest class is F Production and Stupid Miata at 6 each. The rest of our group is 1 FF and 4 F500.

How does one go about requesting a change to the groupings? The FF and F500s can easily be put in group 1 with the 3 SRF. Or they can go in with the handful of cars in group 5 (wings and things).

I see the Chief Steward is Gene Kem, but I don't see any way to contact before the weekend.

Unfortunately, Gene Kern had to step down as Chief Steward for this event. Matias Bonnier will be Chief Steward.

Contact Sandi Kryder (kryderacing@aol.com ) who is the general go-to person for Mahoning Valley Region. She can pass your request along to Matias.

Looking forward to it! Let's hope we can get 20+ cars at the race and our own race group!

    Weather as of today:

Saturday: High 78 w/ a 30% chance of hit or miss shower in afternoon
Sunday: High 82 and sunny with no chance of rain!

This was her response. It seems they are planning to put the Spec Wreckers in with us.

Group 1 is being combined with Group 3. It is rule (although I do not believe it to be in the GCR) is that groups can never be moved up. So we absolutely cannot put 1 FF and 4 F5 into Group 1. Presumably it would not be unfair, just in case they showed up late thinking that they had time and then found out that they missed their session.

I would not think my Chief Steward would be happy with moving 1 FF and 4 F5 down to Group 5 with the FA etc.

I will mention it to him though. But don't get your hopes up.

How did things go last weekend? Out West, we often have an informal split start. Meaning that we separate the vees, hang back about 200 yards, and share the green flag at the start. Of course, we have an agreement among the vees to let the front row set the pace and not jump at the green when it comes out for the lead group.

By the way, no departure from the GCR is allowed unless it appears as an approved supplemental rule. While creativity at the local level invigorates the racing, it must comply with the rules.

    Let us know what happened.
The above post is for reference only and your results may vary. This post is not intended to reflect the views and opinions of SCCA and should not be considered an analysis or opinion of the rules written in the GCR. thanks, Brian McCarthy, BOD area 9.

Except for 2 or 3 of the top level National drivers attending, I imagine that the remaining 12-15 drivers are within a second of each other and we should have
a real dogfight down the order! Looking forward to it since it's been over a decade that I've raced against that many vee's!

Well, I will be a few seconds off the second group, leading the third group!

I'm hoping to hang onto Guy and Stu and maybe bump-draft to keep in touch with
the leaders. Either way, we'll all have plenty of cars to race against which is a nice
problem. It kind of feels good to have the largest class so far etc......

Check the current registration list on motorsportreg.

It appears that Group 1 (SRF) is combined with Group 2 (Small Bore), not Group 3 (FV/F5/FF).

    Much more sensible.
