    Default Dies for a-arm "webs"

Does anyone have a die -- a huge dimple die would work -- maybe 6" diameter with about a 3/4" depression? I need to make some rounded a-arm webs (gussets) at the outer apexes of our lower a-arms (at the upright). If someone has such a beast, please give a shout; I need to get several pieces of .065 4130 sheet pressed.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I don't know why you want to use .065. I use .049 for all my suspension. And I sometimes use .035 for gussets. .049 mild steel should make a good gusset and you can form it on wood blocks.

Yes Chris - Steve's got it. I form mine after laying them out on paper with drills and hole saws, then bend around something handy. Usually 18 gauge mild steel.

    Default sheet metal die

    Hi
I have 2 sheet metal dies. One is 3 inch & will produce about a 1/2 inch deep flange. The other is 2 inch & will make a 3/8 deep flange . Attached is a photo of a-arm parts I make with the 2 inch die.
    thanks , nick
