Having lived in Austin, I can say that going from there to Hallett in a Van Diemen is a looong ride.

Go Randy! I hope to race with Randy again this year, after we had a tremendous race at the Runoffs.

Hallett is a fun weekend about a 10 hour tow.
We will be at the runoffs and trying to put together
A trip to the Cat Nationals.

    Default Hallett l!et's go

    Allen,

Let's see if LMI will "load 'em up" and go. Looks like a great weekend and I am Jonesing to get into a car. Give me a ring - we need to do some adventuring this year.

Hallett is a great facility and very family friendly. Track food, hospitality, and owners are all first class. Fun, safe track as well.

Charles, Hallett not in cards due to "financial diet" this season, e.g., won't do runoffs (they cost about 30% of my entire budget last season, including a major repair). So I will see you at the BHF National in May?

Cliff, when I lived in Austin I flew to Cen-Div for my racing fix, so I never got to run Hallett. I bought a Spec Miata to try Texas region tracks - just about the time I moved back to Chicago. I heard what you say about Hallett.

My runoffs race with Randy was too much fun, I have to say. He and I ran the 2nd half of the race nose to tail with Bill Kephart, vying for that all-important 8th spot. One of the best times I ever had on a race track, after having had loads of fun with Wes and Randy at the Cat until . . . well . . . running with Wes and Randy a couple times recently makes me kick myself for not having raced in the region when I lived in Texas . . .

Still, the thought of Randy going from Austin to Hallett in a Van Diemen is a little much.

When my Miata was delivered from Wisconsin to Austin, the truck it was brought on broke down near Bergstrom airport and the driver drove it over to Applied Racing Technology on the Ben White at rush hour!

Randy is going from Corpus Christi to Hallett only his car lives in Austin. If you live in Texas long enough a 10 hour drive is around the corner.
    Hallett 10 hours
    Road America 24 hours
LMI has Randy's shocks as we speak, they are putting the Allen_W setup in them so we can keep up.

I was there on Friday but the canopy died on Friday night in a storm so we took it as an omen to go home and miss the tornados. Since the were no tornados at Hallett I am waiting by the mailbox for all the checks to start arriving for me making sure you guys would have a good weekend.

    Thank you for your contributions

    Scotty
