Got any of those rear billet uprights available? That is a great idea for mounting the shim camber blocks.

Having owned a 96 I can respond on this. Your right on the edge. I would find a close one and sit in it before buying-

You will likely not fit in a 97 or a 94-95. The 96 has more room as does the 98 and up.

I'm 5'-8" and 180 and have the seat blocked up 3" and forward 2" and can just see over the cowl, the car has the extended roll hoop for taller drivers but 6'-3" might be a stretch, the issue being top of your legs and the U/S of the steering wheel. I know this car was raced in Pro F2000 with a driver over 6', I met him but don't know his exact height. Attached is a pic of me in the car and you can see how short I look.

    Default Head Clearance

One thing you need to be careful of if you are tall is that you have the required clearance in case of roll over. Tracks will place a solid bar over the roll hoop to the bar over the steeing wheel. If your helmet does not clear this bar by 1" to 2" you will be pulled off of the track(sorry, I can't remember the correct height, I haven't raced for 5 years. I know this from experience. I had a reynard at the time and only had 1/2" clearence. One of the stewarts checked me prior to the race and pulled me off the grid. Check the GCR for exact clearance.

    Default Misunderstanding?

LouM, It would seem the that Stewart you mentioned (bless his pea-pickin' heart) "owes you a race" if you didn't get to run. Good luck arranging that...

IMHO he misinterpreted the rule by taking the questionable illustration (fig. 18) pg 190, in APPENDIX I, in the roll cage section as his reference.

If you go to the GCR formula car category specs 9.1.1 pgs. 221 & 222 you will see that there is a 5cm distance from top of roll hoop to top of drivers helmet or 1.9685"--hence the 2" rule. There is no specific measurement for the "broom stick test" (also noted on the illustration on pg 222.

    I'm just sayin'

Default I guess we won't see you at BIR??!!

    Danny!

Was looking forward to a few beers later this month at BIR. No luck, eh?! Sad to see you leave the class. Hopefully still catch you at the track with your EP.

I've raced with Dan several times. On top of being a top notch guy, his car is very well in order. That rear wing alone is worth about $3k, isn't it??!!

If you start parting anything out, I'd also be interested in the front crush box/wing.

    Take care,

    Patrick

Default Thunder Bay is a long ways away!

What is the nearest airport if I was to fly up to look at the car?
How far are you willing to travel to deliver?

Thunder Bay has an International airport served by the two largest Canadian carriers, most connections are through Toronto or a regional flight from Minneapolis. If you are interested we can talk about delivery.
