    Default Rear roll bar ---

Are some people running without a rear roll bar in their FB chassis?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Chris, You want the biggest, baddest RARB you can find. Like off a Lola Indycar will work great.

J/K. I dumped mine a few years back.

    Default Funny, Lola is funny!

Because I was in the process of machining the mounting holes for one -- a Lola Indy car adjustable one -- but I felt that extra lb. and stopped.

    But will now continue.

You're maybe a little psychic, Rob.

Funny - yes. I had bought a Lola Indycar RARB and installed it (adjusted full soft) on my car back in 2009. First time out in the car at the first corner (yes - tires hot) where I pushed it a bit, I looped a 360 and kept going. At the end of that session, I pulled off the RARB and never used one again.

    Default Well, too much ---

Actually, I'm machining off some beef from the "wings" -- but do kinda (at least now) feel I should put one on for initial testing.

Who knows what our actual, real-life roll rates will be when all things are mounted and the cg continues to rise with each additional add-on? Man, this building from zip is tough-sledding. A trip through the fog... toward the place where the earth just snds or something.

Thanks -- and yeah, Citation doesn't seem to need anything additional to go fast!

Actually a driver like sweitz or dixon helps the formula of speed/success for the citation.. those guys are stinkin fast..

Correct. It is just a low-nosed, archaic car. I think they go through the ass-pain of obtaining one mostly for the good looks.

Wren is trying to cover the truth. Both of those guys are complete wankers. The car is just that good. Wren and I were just talking about this, and I think this is finally going to be the year that they adjust Brandon's car to allow full throttle.

I'm not ready for full throttle, but now that everyone knows my "speed secret" of only allowing 75% throttle I'll have to work to find another unfair advantage.

Default That car is soooo right.

The Citation is simply superlative in every way. The more you study it, the more you realize it. I wonder what Steve and Richard (and Brandon and Wren) would next come up with if someone actually began to successfully compete against them... !!

    What a great race car.

I am saddened to hear that Brandon hasn't stuck to his diet. Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.

For a second there I thought you might be referring to me, but then I realized that only the stupid part applied!

Just send enough money and you can find out.....

Actually, the credit goes to Steve and Brandon - the only thing I contributed was the differential and some thoughts on areas to look at.

And yes, a rear (and front) roll bar are still necessary.

No prob, we all make mistakes with the quote function from time to time.

I am hoping that we don't have to go there. It is tough to setup a car when changing gears can change down force in a corner as it did with the Lola 97T.

Unless you found a shifter that could engage the clutch or find neutral every time the driver lifted and kept the revs up to keep the downforce up. That would require a shifter with a solenoid on the throttle bodies and a computer though. Thankfully there is nothing like that in the class.
