    Default Race 1-2012 F1000 Pro Series

    The opening weekend of the 2012 F1000 Pro Series presented by Hoosier Racing Tires, Hyperco, Jongbloed Racing Wheels, Kool Coat, Geartronics, and Elizabeth Jackson Artwork kicks off at Thunderhll Park this weekend.

    Entrants include series regulars JR Osborne and Lucian Pancea representing Stohr Cars, John LaBrie and Herman Pahls for Phoenix Race Works, and Terry Biner along with series newcomer Corey Smith representing Firman West Cars.

    The weekend will begin with Saturday practice around 10:30am with afternoon qualifying at approximately 2:30. Race 1 will be the first group out on Sunday at 8:00am. Qualifying for race 2 will close out the morning with Race 2 the final group at 4:00pm.

    JR Osborne takes Pole Position in 2012 Season Opener

    Thunderhill Park, Willows, Ca (March 10, 2012) - JR Osborne took pole position in the season opener of the 2012 F1000 Pro Series presented by Hoosier Tires, Hyperco, Jongbloed Racing Wheels, Kool Coat, Geartronics, and Elizabeth Jackson Artwork.

    Following Osborne less than a second behind was Lucian Pancea in his Stohr with series newcomer Corey Smith driving for Firman West Cars taking third. Fourth was the Firman of Terry Biner followed by John LaBrie in his Phoenix and Herman Pahls who did not set a time.

    Race one starts tomorrow at 8am.

    Qualifying Times:

    1. 1.40.128 JR Osborne, Stohr
    2. 1.40.551 Lucian Pancea, Stohr
    3. 1.42.580 Corey Smith, Firman
    4. 1.47.508 Terry Biner, Firman
    5. 1.51.167 John LaBrie, Phoenix
    6. no time Herman Pahls, Stohr

    I'll take it one step further, Coop. Where are the rest of the Firman's? I'm not biased or anything, but I know there are more out there. :-)

    We all got home late battered and bruised. No energy to write race report. Will do that later. Results were:

    1. JR Osborne
    2. Lucian Pancea
    3. Corey Smith
    4. Terry Biner
    5. Herman Pahls
    6. John LaBrie - DNF Engine

    Good news is that it is looking like a very healthy field for Laguna. Possible double double digit entry.
