    Default Wheel Bearing R&R

Hi Folks, I'm running into uncharted waters again with this RF98, wheel bearing replacement is my question. I looked for a thread to get an idea, but didn't an actual procedure. I have the upright off the car, on a bench, removed the six long allen bolts and thats as far I am going without some reassurance It looks like the upright and the rotor hat press unto the bearing. The stub screws into the center of the hat. Is there an easy 5 step to doing this without breaking things. I have a press and tools etc. JRM

Press the hub out. The stub axle can stay in if you want.
    Remove the bearing retainer.
Heat the upright and press the bearing out.

thanks, how would you set the hat/upright on the press, there isn't much to work with, I haven't done anything with uprights like these before. Haha they look like the ones on the Apexspeed banner above.

With the rotor off you should be able to block it up.
Alternitively you can drop pins in the three holes around the outside of the hub center and run a nut down the stub axle onto a plate placed on top of the pins and this will jack the hub out of the bearing.

Comprent Racing sells a tool to take off the hub with 3 pins and a plate that screws down on the stub axle as Fred mentioned. Just bought it for my FE and it worked great. Not the cheapest but well made and worth having if you'll need to do it again.

    Call Kevin at Comprent.
