    Default Formula 1000 operating costs

I've been racing karts for a few years and HPDE events with my S2000 for the past few years. I feel I've gotten to the point of stepping it up, the only thing holding me back is the funds. I went to a FF event at Watkins glen, and asked a million questions about whatever I could think of but everyone was giving me different ideas on running costs. It seemed like the largest cost was the upkeep on the engine, correct me if i'm wrong but it doesn't seem the case in F1000. I've been researching initial costs for a car ect. but I was wondering if someone could give me an honest idea on running costs. Thanks

The largest cost in most classes (including FB) will be tires, not the engine. In fact, most racing costs have nothing to do with the type of car you are running. That said, IMO you can expect overall FB operating costs to be comparable to FC.

You should also be aware that FB is probably not the ideal entry-level class. FF, F5, FV are all great places to start. Good luck.
