Ontario FF: 2012 Schedule Announced

The newly renamed The Toyo Tires F1600 Championship has confirmed it race calendar for 2012, with the Ontario-based series racing 14 times via seven events.

The upcoming edition of the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship, as fans have come to expect, will feature a talented mix of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming racers going head-to-head for title honors at Ontario's best racing facilities in 2012. The action gets under way in early May, with the traditional British Empire Motorsports Club event at Mosport International Raceway. This will be followed by a visit to Shannonville Motorsports Park at the end of the month for Rounds Three and Four. Mosport, which is currently undergoing major renovations, will play host to the next two events on the schedule, with the British Automobile Racing Club event in late June, and the premier event on the calendar, the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport taking place in Mid-July. Labour Day weekend witnesses the F1600 racers at Calabogie Motorsports Park in the eastern part of Ontario. The season concludes with two more trips to Mosport, with another British Empire Motorsports Club event in mid-September, and the CASC Celebration of Motorsport event at the end of the month.

With support from new title sponsor Toyo Tires, an ever-growing alliance with Quebec-based Formula Tour 1600 racers, and the inclusion of the Honda Fit powerplant, the chase for title supremacy in 2012 is sure to be an exciting affair.

I had thought there was a misprint in the schedule posted since we talked at the last meeting about another race at Mosport in late June.
Just found out that the schedule is correct and we are going to the ALMS weekend in July.
