Default Hasselgren FA Parts / Engine

    Hello all,

I'm a new member here. I have been into & have owned AE86 Corollas with race spec engines for many many years. Over the years I have enjoyed a very good relationship with Paul Hasselgren which has resulted in me having a living room filled with Formula Atlantic 4AGE parts. I am almost finished building a new engine for my car & think it's time I started selling most, if not all of my spares. Some of these belong to a friend of mine but we're both located in the Pacifica / Daly City area & local pick up is welcome.

Brand new, unused FA engine. Built in 2007 as a spare, this engine saw a dyno run-in session, some power mapping sessions & then went into a container as a spare. It comes with a Pectel / Cosworth ECU ( already mapped ) & a new engine harness. At the time, this whole project cost in excess of $40,000 to put together. 240bhp at 10,200rpm.
I am asking $15,000.00 for the engine, ECU & engine harness. Many of you may realize that the ECU & harness make up almost $5,000.00 of the asking price. It does however have to be sold as a set.

Tilton twin disc race clutch & flywheel $1,200.00

    F.A. Ralt. cam cover $500

Perfect condition TRD throttes with injectors $2,300.00

I have many more parts, both new & used. As an example, I have somewhere in the region of 10 crank shafts in need of light grinding & polishing. Each crank is $500.00. I got mine refinished by a shop in LA. It cost me $700.00 to have it ground, polished & a re-nitride service. I am happy to provide the information of the repairing shop if needed. New, this was a $3,500.00 crank.

I also have enough parts to put together some complete heads if there is interest. All heads are pre-ported, polished & have a Newen valve job. Can be sold either complete or as a bare head.

    See below:

Here is the engine I put together with the above parts: Be aware though, this engine is for a road car so the block was not strapped & I used a standard oil pump instead of a dry sump set up & cover.

Hi, good to see you have found the apexspeed forums.

Did you happen to have a separate front engine cover like I asked you in the email?
(the one that replaces the stock oil pump)

Hello & thanks. Unfortunately a front cover is one of those rare parts which I do not have an excess of. I have one which I will be using to build my next engine. I do however have one that comes with a free engine, ECU & harness. It's only $15,000 for the lot

Valve cover sold & on its way to the Netherlands ( Thanks Apex Speed )
I now also have this for sale:

I would ideally like to sell the engine as a whole for $10,500.00. For that price it comes with:

S & K Formula Atlantic Carb set-up with TRD manifold

    Complete Fresh Long Block
    Dry Sump Pan
New Belt(s) & plugs ( Belts if dry sump pump needed )
Valve adjustmen complete ( ready to fire )
Cam Timing complete ( ready to fire )

A dry sump pump can be included at additional cost.

This engine can also be broken for the following prices:

    Complete Formula Atlantic head.
CNC valve seats, complete port work, larger valves, springs & retainers.
    $3,500.00.
The machine work alone is more than that !

    Complete Formula Atlantic block
    Carillo Rods
    Pistons
    TRD Crank
Can be sold with dry sump pan or wet sump pan ( no price difference )
    $5,500.00

Complete S & K Formula Atlantic Carb set-up with TRD manifold
Brand new, never used ! This is the original set-up from the Atlantic series before ITBs were used. Again, NEVER USED !!
    $1,400.00

Free SF Bay Area delivery. Shipping outside the Bay Area available for a reasonably fee.

Open to reasonably offers on all items above, whether is the entire package or individual parts.

Depending on compression torque is typically anywhere from 130 - 140 in the 6000 rev range.
