    Default Identify this Decal?

    Hello,

I now own a Swift DB1 which used to have a decal on it same as the oval red one closest to right front wheel in this image:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbonvou...7621966827485/

My DB1 was also once upon a time owned by Frank del Vecchio, and i found this picture when doing a search for images of the DB1 racing 1985-1988. Esp Road Atlanta Runoffs 1988. Frank was kind enough to send me an image with the decal 'just visible' but now seeing the image in the link above I'm sure it is the same!

Under our rules we can apply decals if they were on the car at the time it was raced.

The decal looks like an auto racing organisation.

Anyone have any clues, or a scan or close up of this decal?

    A long shot....

The image I have of this is very indistinct but this logo appears to be a very close mtach.

Would NARRC have been running in 1988?

    Thanks all.

That is definitely the NARRC logo, as the other gentlemen have stated.

I would hope you are not implying that you believe Elvis is dead.

Ran it and won it multiple times. That's why he's called the King.

    Thanks for that.

I wonder if there's a file out there at higher resolution, or in vector .eps format?

    Need to scale it up.

I can always trace it but its a lot of work.....and the less blurrrrrr the better?

    Much appreciated, getting closer.

    The NARRC website is http://www.NARRC.com

It has a logo page with the best representation of the NARRC logo that I have found:

    http://www.narrc.com/logos/NARRC_Logo.jpg

This logo has been around for a long time (it wasn't new in your picture of Frank Del Vecchio's car) and has be copied many times.

I've kept a number of decals in my collection over the years. Still have a couple of original UOP Shadow logos. I have 4 of the original NARRC red oval decals available. I can mail them off to you if you wish at no charge. Just send an email with your address.

    Default Thanks, yes please.

    Those sound great.

Thanks to all for the help on this.

The blur in the image I have was just that. Thanks to the internet, google, flickr and apex, another part of motorsport history is preserved!

Now all I need is to learn how to drive the car quick.

I'm 187cm or 6'2" or somesuch in imperial, and......lost 10kg so I can actually fit in better. Lost so much I had to buy a smaller race suit.

Adding lightness! Might have to adjust the spring rates too
