Hey! fox, i'm new here and wanting to build a formula car. First question is i have a gixxer 600 motor sitting in my garage, and i'm thinking about a turbo 600 setup. Any thoughts or inputs? also what class would i be able to run. Thank You.

If youre looking to do it cheap I would stick it in a F5 chassis. Theres a couple that already have done 95% of the work and the price is usually less than 10K for the car and everything. I hope you decide to come race with us in F6 next year! The Formula 600 challenge series is shaping up fast and im sure its going to surprise a lot of people with what all will be up for grabs. I dont know what a turbo version unrestricted would turn but the restricted non turbo will do 136-137 mph stand alone and 140.0 in the draft. I would like to see what a turbo version could do myself!
Turbocharging a GSXR 600 (or anything, for that matter) will be an expensive proposition. You can double your hp, but it puts incredible stresses on everything. Plus, there is a lot of development and testing before you'll get it right.
If you do want to go that route, this is a 670cc DSR at Road America (GSXR based)

On a different lap, we hit 183 mph!
