For Sale 1993 "tall chassis" FM + trailer

This is a 1993 “Tall” chassis (great for tall drivers!). The car was purchased in 2008 from WorldSpeed and has primarily been run in the west coast Formula Car Challenge. It competed in the full 2008 season, a partial ’09 season, and has only run a few races in ’10 and ’11; Which is unfortunately our reason for selling, we’re just not using it enough due to lack of free time. :/

The car has been cared for meticulously by both myself and WorldSpeed and has been fully supported and thoroughly inspected by them for most of this season’s racing. New fuel cell installed in July ($1,700), shocks freshly rebuilt, and engine rebuilt and tuned by Drummond in May of last year ($5,900). This car has been a consistent front-runner in the competitive FCC series and is in mechanically perfect shape and ready for next season. The sidepods are showing normal wear and tear but other than that it's great. No fixing or tinkering required! Others who are familiar with this car will attest that it has always been maintained with no expense spared.

    Included with the car:

    • SCCA and NASA log books
    • RLC MicroPod Lite dash and data system with GPS timing and track mapping
    • Nice Motorola radio and headset
    • aluminum calipers
    • quickjack
    • Tanner scales
    • Hoosier rain tires
    • Two sets of wheels
    • Custom alignment bars made by Derry O’Donovan
    • MK Technologies chassis stands
    • Official “FM” cover
    • Spares package includes things such as: throttle cable, ignition wire set, muffler clamp kit, ignition coil and master switch, brake pads, spark plugs, and other misc bits. Spare body parts include: Nose (with some light damage), cockpit fairing (good shape), and side pods (good shape).

The trailer is a 20’ TPD Vortech which was purchased new in 2008. It’s only been driven in CA and the biggest trek we’ve had it on is the journey from the Bay Area to Thunderhill. It’s in GREAT shape.

    Trailer details:

    • Craftsman tool chest integrated into workbench
    • Nitrogen tank
    • Overhead shelves
    • Workbench w/ storage
    • Florescent light over workbench and incandescent interior lights.
    • Tire rack
    • Fuel jug rack
    • Custom wall-mounted storage brace for FM nose
    • External locking storage box
    • Motorized tongue jack
    • Winch w/ remote control
    • E-track along floor

Looking for $30k for the package or $22k for just the car, or $12k for the trailer. The car is currently located at the WSM shop at Infineon.

This is a great FM, that I have known since new. (timeline is best I can do off the top of my head)

    1993 - 2002
    1st owner Rick Betchley
Raced sporadically in SCCA events in Cali. Very easy on car, and meticulous.

    2003-2005
World Speed brokered a deal to buy it for a track day customer: Ed Kornegay.
Ed used car for 2 years in about 20 days of track driving, no races.

    2006-07
World Speed brokered a deal buy the car for Sean Prewett. Sean drove the car for a year and a half and traded it in to World Speed for a Pro FM

World Speed sold car to Matt Trudell. Car is currently in our care and is in great condition. If anyone wants to come see it in person drop me an email. mark@worldspeed.com

Might have better luck selling it if you change your handle to KathleenTurnerOverdrive.

Maybe I'll come visit with it... But it's heading to the midwest. Sorry... You guys already have the better weather and landscapes. Can't keep all the cars, too.

But seriously, Matt and Mark, you have been awesome through the buying process. Thanks.

Glad to be joining the FM family.

I sure did try, but it just wasn't meant to be. Oh I will definitely be back. I'm still looking into at least doing some sort of rental drive for a race or two this year. Maybe one of them will be the IRL weekend Infineon race?

Thanks Vincent. I'm glad the car is going to a good home. You're going to have a blast with it!

    Default Like a bad penny...........

Oh I will definitely be back....
Yeah, we knew that. . But until then, who am I going to make fun of???? Oh yeah, me and maybe Bruce......... Well, yeah, can't forget Stew.

Oh hey and when you do come back, be sure and bring another trick set up. You've got some time to think one up. I'm sure it'll be a doozy.

In the meantime, work hard, make a name for yourself and lots of money so we'll be able to say we remember when.
