Formula Mini Indy? MIA?
Whatever happened to the Formula Mini Indy guy? There are quite a few 600cc models being road raced in a local club up here, but I have not seen anymore. Wasn't there suppose to be a 1000cc version?
Hey, I'm bored. It's hump day, racing season is over and I'm sitting behind a desk when it is the nicest day of the year. How else can one amuse themselves, right?

I think he punted. After that whole brouhaha, didn't he come on here a while later and advertise it for sale? I seem to have a vague memory of that.
I think the car proved just too fast for FB.
I think actually he has rebranded himself as Dunning-Kruger Racing.
He inquired about buying my FB car but said he could build a new car for what I wanted used. I don't think he was ever serious about FB.

If we are talking about the oval track racer and car that was the topic of discussion in a couple of threads early last year, I noticed that his miniformulaindy web site is no longer.

I think you may be refering to CFI (club formula indy) Used to be called FIRA. I am part of that group. There are a few that use a 600cc snowmobile engine and some use a 750cc motorcycle motor. Most of us run Blackhawk Farms and Road America.
What sort of times do you guys run at those 2 tracks?
My personal best @ BHF is a 1.16 and RA 2.39 ... Not to bad for a car that was designed and raced on oval tracks for 6 years! lol
No, sir. He is referring to a specific gentleman who branded himself as Mini Formula Indy that came on this site and proceeded to tell everyone that tried to help him they were snobs.

Yes and no ... lol ... We (FIRA) were a stand alone oval racing group for many many years. About 4/5 years ago car count starting dropping and in return so did the tracks that wanted us ... Oval tracks want V8 motors and fenders ... even tho we had faster times than most of those types of cars. So many of us converterd our cars to road racing. We are now called CFI (Club Formula Indy). FIRA still exists as some cars still oval race in a class combined with other types of open wheel cars (NAMRA & RASCAL Outlaws)

I'm so glad we made the switch. Road racing as been such a great expierence for me. This class is turning out to be a great intro for someone that wants to start in road racing. My goal is to move up to FB within the next year or two.
