I would expect the Speads contingent to be there, at least Richard Cottrill and Christopher Ash. Maybe one or two more?

Hopefully. We need a few more entries to secure the 2.5 average for the season. What was the majic number 177 entries?

    Russ,
Not sure if you're keeping track but Christopher Ash is registered. If my math is correct (it doesn't agree with Topeka so it might not be), we'll be at exactly 2.5 entries per national with his entry. You should go, just to give us a little padding!

I think Dave Gomberg said FB needed 26 entries prior to Miller(SCCA's numbers). Miller had 20, Pocono had two, so that leaves 4 more.

    Default We'll be there

We will be there, but as I don't have the necessary regional entries to get my national license back (only 4 and need 6 as 2 were used to get my novice permit lifted), we will have to run as a regional car, unless someone knows how to petition for a waiver for the weekend. It's a rational race.

According to the Club, FB is sitting on 176 entries, or a 2.627 average for 67 races. With 5 races remaining, they need a total of 4 more entries to end with a 2.5 average

    Keep racing!

It used to be possible to get a waiver for a National license. I had it done during a weekend once, you just have to know the right person. For the life of me I cannot remember the title of the person that was able to do that but it was someone from my Region.

    Default Un********** Real

I better go back and make sure my June Sprints "race" was counted, as I crossed start finish line in the hot pits and retired completing only the warmup lap, and taking the green. What exactly constitutes an "Entry"?

Sad truth is I shoulda/coulda just headed to Homestead for the Doub Nat directly after the Sebring Doub Nat instead of heading back to ATL and getting caught in the Jan ice storm and camping out in middle GA for 3 days...

Turning a wheel in any session counts as an entry.

Correct. From GCR 9.1.13, Note 1:
Note 1: For the purposes of this section, the term “entries” is defined as drivers classified in the final official race results of National races as finishers, did-not-finish (DNF), did-not-start (DNS), or disqualified (DQ).
    For reference, from GCR 5.10.4.B.3:

A DNS is defined as any car that turned a wheel on the track during practice or qualifying, but did not start the race.
Just mailing in an entry fee will not suffice. Don't even consider it.

Yes turning a wheel at anytime during the event is what is needed. If we can find a driver I would drop a few bucks to the cause as well.

    Sidney,

In the SEDIV we have an official called the "Driver's Advocate", currently filled by Toni Creighton. We work with her often to get waivers.

If you start calling officials in your Division, I bet you could get a waiver. Someone in the Division has the authority to approve waivers through Topeka.

Anyone familiar with who that would be in Iowa?

This might be the easiest solution to get one more entry.

CO seems to be the Speads hotbed and there several in that neck of the woods. It's my understanding that money isn't the biggest factor but offering to help may get one of them off the fence. The Mystt F1000 National Championship would be hypocritical if it didn't pitch in, so we'll help out, too. That is, if Ian can't get a National waiver.

    Default Sent a note

I sent a note to Guy Ruse (Licensing in RMD) to apply for a waiver. I expected Richard Cottril and possibly one other Speads to register, but as of this note, I see nothing. I know he has a DSR client running a new Speads, so maybe he's spoken for on the weekend. I'll keep you posted on the progress of my inquiry.

Maybe someone should contact Riltech directly to see about a rental. It would be nice to have another car out there.

    Default It appears

that the easiest thing at this point is for Sydney to get the waiver and enter the National.

    How's that going?

    Default Scca National Li

With advice from Nickolas Belling I was able to get a National License in 10 days having never raced with SCCA so that I could race Portland on short notice.
Dick Raymond from the San Francisco region went over my racing resume by phone and gave his recommendation to the SCCA.
I felt the SCCA was very helpfull.
I am not sure of Dick Raymonds SCCA title but he apparently approves all new National License's on the west coast.
Find that person in your region and getting your National License may be as easy as it was for me.

He's working with the right guy, Guy Ruse. He is divisional licensing steward and is very reasonable. Tell me again, why do we have regionals and nationals if they run together at the same time at the same track?

Some people don't care about both national and regional racing, so they only run one or the other. Combining both at the same event gets more entrants, and so more money, to apply to the track rental and other expenses of running a race weekend. If the event doesn't make money.......

    Default National Waiver

Well, I gotta give props to Guy, at 2:55 this morning, he sent in my paperwork for the National waiver. I'll send in my $90 for the license today and get it processed tomorrow. My registration for the Regional has been cancelled, but the national has not been added, yet. I'll talk with Annie today and get it sorted out. Looks like it's gonna work. Now I just need to get 2 starts under my belt. Wish us luck.

Worst case, assuming I get my finish on Saturday for DSR, I bet I could convince Richard to let me hop in the Rilltech shop car Sunday morning to run a practice session and get 1 more FB entry as well.
