Just sobering up from a great weekend at Blackhawk Farms Raceway for the Firecracker Double Regional. There are a few people I have to thank for thier awesome help this weekend.
Two days before the event, my crewchief (dad) had knee surgery, but that didn't stop him from preparing the car for each session all weekend. The Blackhawk Farms track manager, Tom, loaned us the use of his golf cart all weekend so that my dad could get around the facility. When I thanked him for his hospitality, he said "Hey it's Blackhawk Farms, that's just what we do". First class all the way...
During the test day on Friday, the car had a high RPM miss and the carb was loading up in right hand corners. There was no way we would be on pace come Saturday with the car performing like that. Bruce Lindstrand and Nicole Temple from Lindstrand Motorsports dropped what they were doing and offered their help and the car ran great for the rest of the weekend.
It's people like Tom, Bruce and Nicole that make it possible for a regional club racer with limited knowledge/experience like myself to go from possibly having an expensive bad weekend to having a great weekend that I'll remember for a long time.
Thanks again LMI and BHF!
