May I ask you the specific type of oil you use and the type.
It depends on the time of year (temp). During the winter months I run just a conventional 30 weight oil. These engines inject oil into the combustion chamber similar to a 2 stroke. The Conventional oil burns much cleaner than a synthetic.

That being said, during the summer months we do run a synthetic. A good synthetic oil will bring down oil temps about 15 degrees, which subsiquintly helps with water temp.

Do you also use a premix and if so what type and the mix
I personally do not run premix. I don’t think that a premix hurts anything. But it is messy. Some of the oil will drop out of suspension, which soaks the air filter, which will then end up on the top of the engine. If you decide to run a premix, you only need to run 2-3 ounces per 5 gallons.

We do our oil changes at 8 hour intervals. Depending on how hard you drive the car, you may be able to stretch this with a simple filter change at the half way point.
