    Default Paddock Info

Guys - here is the info on the reserved Paddock space at RA per the Supps

COMPETITON PADDOCK ROWS 10, 11 and 12 are reserved for Formula First. these are the first rows next to the Marshelling Lane

For those unfamilier with RA, to get to this area you take the main road into the inside of the track (under the Kohler Bridge) and it will be on the left just past the food stand.

My Dad and I will get there early on Friday to cordon off the area for FST - hopefully we will have a number of people getting in on Friday to help claim our space quickly.

    Default I'm In

Ok guys - Gratten is behind us and now it's on to RA. I'm officially registered, as is Dave Blevins. We really need to do what we can to get 12 cars there, as we pretty much swore a blood oath that we would in order to get the split start and the reserved paddock area.

As it gets closer I'll put out more info on the paddock area and any other news.

So far - according to Motorsports Reg. here is the current registration list - I'll up date as people let me know they are in:

    1) Dave Blevins
    2) Bob Stack
    3) Doug Seim
    4) Bill Bonow
    5) Rob Clark
    6) Jim Nash
    7) Butch Deer
    8) Dave Dawson
    9) Jason Steeb

Also a reminder - so far I know of two groups staying at Plymouth Rock - Team Stack and Team Farmiga (sort of a Citation Corral thing I think). If anyone else is planning to stay at PR let me know so we can all get together there - my folks have a seasonal site and we are invited to hang at their site for a campfire Friday or Saturday night (or both)

    Default Roll Call!

The racing at Grattan was great, so lets see if we can take the same action to Road America. We are real close to a 12 car grid by my reckoning. - if we can fill up a couple of rental seats then we could break 14!

We're at seven, Butch Deer is now entered.

Be looking for Mike Green to be entering in Brian Finegan's Evo on a rental for the weekend. Mike typically runs a Hawke CFF out of the LMI stables, but wants to give FST a shot.

Reviewing the list of potentials, looks like we're on a run for 13 cars! If we could get Lance or Steve Steeb to join us in the third SR car, that puts us at 14!

Actually, Carl and his car will be there on display (and for an annual tech). Figured at the track would be a great place for interested parties to see the car in 100% race ready condition. So you don't even need to pick it up. Show up and get a fully supported race weekend for free.

    Jason,

We have a fresh LRE gearbox (disc to disc) in the trailer if you need it.

Remember Murphy's law, if you have it, you won't need it.

Apparently, you guys are not going to let a little transmission gremlin keep me away from Road America. I’m not totally out of the woods yet, but things look a lot better today than they did at this time yesterday.

    I’m in.

BTW…Thanks to everybody for the offers to use your spare transmissions! Between Lance offering to crate his, Mr. Seim offering to meet me part way for a hand off, and Bill's above reminder... You guys are all top notch!

    Cheers!

Of course they were going to give you the "wrong trans" and then protest you when you won. Nah, they wouldn't do that!

So we're at 11 official then? Yeah!

I heard Reece is a go and heard another rumor that we may have a car making a trip up all the way from Florida!

Can't say on Sam or Jared. There still is anouther SR car available as well, correct?

Add those up and the potential is 15.

    Default Still planning to go

I am still planning to go, we have booked a cabin and my brother is planning to join us.

I do not yet have my engine back, hopefully I should have it soon and Ted and I can get it in with time to spare. I'm just holding off on the entry untill I am sure I will have a running car.

Sam's engine going on the dyno this afternoon. So he will be ready. The Florida entry is a no go.

As Win/Jared said, they will be there with the #25 Evo.

I sent Reece his new Fuel cell and I assume they are set.

We sold the engine out of the XTC/FST to someone that needed one quick (not for RA though). So that set the XTC back a few days. We should see it at Atlanta if not before.

    Default 12 and counting

12 is great, but we still have 3 more potentials. Reece should be signing up (?), SR has a rental car available and Carl will have his race ready car on display (write a check and go fast). It would be really great to have 15 cars for this event. Chicago Region was asking if we thought we could bring 10. A few extra car could play really good for next year

    Default Ready to go!

Matt and I got the Mysterian "trailer ready" this weekend. It'll be a long 4 days waiting to hit the road!

    Default Lucky 13

Reece is signed up and we've reached our predicted number of 13 cars. There are still two cars available (and both at the track, race ready), so anyone interested should make their move now.

Looks to be another great Hoosier FST Series race weekend. Can't wait to get to Road America .

    Default Paddock Info

EDIT - I just got off the phone with RA - it sounds like they are not letting anyone in on Friday who is not there for the Test Day until tech and registration open at 6:00 PM - I'm waiting for some confirmation on this. They MIGHT let me in on Friday Morning to cordon off our area but I'm not even sure about that.

I'll post additional info as I get it.

A reminder that FST has a reserved paddock area at RA - we have rows 10, 11 & 12 dedicated to us. I am expecting to get there as soon as the gates open on Friday morning to rope off our area.

Here is a map of RA with the approximate area of our paddock marked in orange. These will be the frist three rows after the entry road to the false grid.

For those who have never been to RA - you enter the infield (paddock) through the Kohler Tunnel. stay on the main road and you will pass the concession stand on your left as you go up the hill. We will be shortly after the concession stand.

As luck would have it, I have to run into Milwaukee for a hearing at 10:15 so I'm expecting to get to RA maybe 7:00 AM (whatever time they open) and then head into Milw. about 9:00ish. Should be back to RA by about 11:30. My dad will be there "guarding" the FST paddock - hopefully as our guys start to fill in the spaces we will have more people to police. I would ask that when you pull in, please put the ropes/markers back up so that we keep the area marked untul everyone is in.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone!

    Bob

PS - Dad's a good patrolman so don't be offended if he tries to shoo you away! lol, just tell him you're a member of the club!

What time do people expect to be rolling in anyway?

    IMPORTANT!!!!

I just got off the phone with the nazi's, er, I mean the nice folks at RA. They WILL NOT let anyone in until registration opens at 6:00 Friday unless they are registered (and therefor paid) for the Test day. I would be happy to go up early Friday morning to rope off our area, but I'm not paying $250 for the test day, especially since I won't be able to run it because of having to run back for Court.

IS ANYONE FROM FST planning to run the test day? If so PLEASE call me at (262) 993-2566 to discuss this.

I will be contacting our contact at Chicago Region to see if he has any ideas, but basically, I expect that by Friday evening the Test Day guys will have taken some or all of our real estate. Then we will need to decide whether to set off a "$hit storm" by pointing to the supps and telling them to move or if we just forego the special paddock area.

    Nothing is easy
