Wheel Driven Land Speed Record Holder @ 409 mph..
The two brothers built drag car axles in a machine shop in Pomona CA.
I was in high school and my friend bought a pair of axles from Summers for his car.
The sign on the front of the shop said "Home of the Goldenrod"
We went in the back door of the shop to pick up the axles and there was this very long thing under blankets along one wall.
We asked about it and Bill started to pull the blankets off. It was amazing how they packaged four chrysler hemis, synced them and drove both front and rear wheels.
