Hawke DL2B - looking for history of this car

Hello,

have brought this car to Australia. Interested if anyone knew of any history of this car, or how to maybe get information out of the CASC or SCCA.

Also wondering if anyone has clues on former owners.

Was owned and raced in Ontario area but may have travelled south.

Car was sold at

The first digit of the CASC tag denotes where it came from. In an entirely intuitive (??) method of #'s in alpabetical order!

1 = Atlantic
2 = British Columbia
3 = Ontario
4 = Prairie
5 = Quebec

So, (as you already know) your car came from Ontario. I don't know anyone there, but you should be able to track someone down from http://www.casc.on.ca/.

The 1971-1974 autocourse results list some intesting Hawke grids.

Gilles Villeneuve won one of the FASQ GP3R races, and was named rookie of the year.

They must have been superseded quickly, as the DL10s and 11s were quickly listed a couple of years later.

the car name was Magnum and the guy behind was Pierre St-Jacques three cars of the same model were build . and theres two cars who still exist.one athe villeneuve museum ,and the other one just started his "vintage " carreer last summer after a very well done restoration .the second pictures is from me and taken at tremblant last year.theres a site with a brief history ,and even if its not written anywhere ,im like you and i think the car is basically a Caldwell d9 copy

I bought the car (the Hawk)less bodywork, and engine from a fellow in Windsor Ontario in about 1990. I can't remember the fellows name. The front of the chassis had been torched off so it would stand up in his garage.

I didn't ever run the car, it was sold off and Andy was the first one to run it in Historic racing.

Thanks very much for that. In the autocourse results there are at least 3 listed out in the Ontario region. I know its a fairly big place. Bigger than Texas??
