    Default Front pan seal leak

My kent motor is leaking fairly profusely from the curved portion of the "pan" which is directly under the front main bearing. this is the seal which is not holding back full oil pressure but is keeping in the splashing oil inside the dry sump area.

It looks as if the proper way to fix it is to pull the motor, since the welded belly pan precludes dropping it down.

I am wondering if anybody has solved this problem by cleaining out a bit of the gasket and applying some kindof sealer on the surface?

I thought I should come back and post how the problem was solved. First I cleaned and resealed the area where the leak was coming out.

Then I discovered that there was no crankcase ventilation and I repiped the hoses so that there is now. There was a hose connecting the valve cover to the crankcase so effectively no ventilation. when the engine ran blowby created pressure and pushed it out the weakest place, the front pan seal.

    Problem solved....dry motor.

Thanks for all the help I got here.
