    This is my first time doing a gear change on my car, and I was wondering if you guys use any sealent on the housings to prevent leaks?

    By your name, you must be running a 98 Van Diemen which has the LD gearbox. The gear carrier is machined for a sealing rubber on each side, and other than replacing them about once a year, will not require any sealants when assembling.

    Do not mix the pinion spacers when you pull the works out. If you have a Taylor prepped box it will have an extra layshaft spacer as well. The dummy shaft tool helps alot too.

    The dummy shaft is definately recommended. Also, if you don't have one, you can print off a manual from the Taylor website. Helped me out tremendously.
