    Default 72 Royale RP16

Sadly Richard Tipton passed away in Jan of this year. He raced the RP16 mainly in the NE and FL Regions. He later moved to Taos NM with the car.

The family sold the car to me, it had been sitting for 10+ years.

Looking for any help on history of the car and I am looking for help to decide if restoration is viable.

The car is complete but the top radiators were removed for one big one left rear bottom of the car. Otherwise appears complete.
    1) where is the factory plate located?

    2) have a spare nose mold but may need a mold or top body panel for the top radiators to be reinstalled

    3) Any source for suspension parts etc. Car doesn't appear wrecked but want to have a path for new bits if needed.

RoyaleracingLLC http://www.royaleracingllc.com/ will have any part you may need. The chassis plate is riveted to the dash 'hoop' on the RH side above the shifter, but if it is like mine it may be missing.

I don't have an extra top body, but if you ever make up another nose I would be interested!

PM me with what parts you may need and I will check my stash to see what I can part with.

PS, this car is Monoposto legal if you want to take it that direction (instead of club Ford)

    Default arcane history

i THINK Bob Earl won the run-offs in that model

seems most folks modifired their cars to a single side radiator configuration to lower the cg and be able to see out the mirrors?

I find the pictures in the archive section of www.race-cars.com to be very helpful in determing where thigs go and what they should look like. There should be several RP-16s in there. Steve Roux had one with the alternative bodywork and different radiator configuration. The original bodywork is the same as the RP-14SV with the radiators where the scoops for the volkswagon are located.
