Default Hawke FSV on Ebay

Interesting car. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen one in the flesh.

Needless to say, usual disclaimers... Not mine, Don't know owner, yada, yada.

With a Lola T540 FF nose, no less.
Our own Frank Delvecchio ran one, quite possibly this car, in 1971 I think it was . Only ran Sebring and maybe one other as I recall.
Frankie, you out there ?
Chime in on your great adventure 40 years ago with the Hawke Super Vee and the boys from Engine Tech outside Boston.......

Default Hawke super vee

Hello ,
I'm the owner of the Hawke Super Vee. I am not a big social network person.
I was told about the talk on apex regarding my car. I bought it about 5 years ago
with every intention of finishing it. I have too many projects and not enough time
left in my life for a tenth of them , so I am selling a few cars. The nose looks
identical to the ones pictured on Hawke brochures. Many manufactures copied
others in that era. I have owned a Hawke Formula Ford and the Super Vee is
very similar , as was also the practice in that era. Lola super vees are very
close to Lola formula fords in the early 70's. I can not make alot of claims
regarding this car , because I simply do not know. I do know it is a very
rare car , it is not crashed , and is probably being sold too cheap.
I would be happy to address any questions regarding the car or anything else.
I race SCCA and Midwestern Council. I have held a SCCA national license
for the past 25 to 30 years. I am in my 43rd year of racing.

Social Networking???

This site is the place to find anything and everything about formula cars.

If there is some social non race car discussion that is simply a by product of so many people with a common interest.

But don't call Apexspeeders social networkers.

We are racers who happen to communicate via the internet.

Not angry, just surprised that we would be lumped in with that other crowd.

Art, pay no attention to Steve Demented's ramblings...he's grumpy with the rest of us, as well.

And welcome to ApexSpeed!

Oh, and Ed Zink did the same thing with his FFs and SVs back in the day. I have a '75 Z-10B FF. According to the original sales brochure that came with my car, the Z-10 (FF) and Z-11 (SV) were identical chassis, except for the engine mounting points in the engine bay.

Default Hawke Super Vee

I owned a Hawke Super Vee back in the early 80's. I never ran the car, but it was quite nicely prepared, having been previously owned and operated by Jack Welsh, (who owned a local Honda motorcycle dealership here in Portland, OR.), and crewed by Norton Gaston. I sold the car to a gentleman from upstate New York. I have always been curious about what happened to the car. Unfortunately, I do not have the chassis number. Any info based on this scant lead would be appreciated!

In casse my messaghe of mock disgust did not come through, it was mock disgust and teasing you.

No offense taken.

Just trying to have a light moment.

And Stan, have you ever known me not to be grumpy.

Especially when it's still a month to the first race in my neck of the woods.

Default Did it sell?

What happened to the car? I did not see it get sold on ebay. Did someone on the board pick it up? Sure looks like a nice project.
