Any word? Tornadoes, results?

Mike, I heard they had to duck and cover for about an hour after grp 2 race on Sat, but were able to continue after that. I was unable to get turned around in time to get back there, but 5 hrs south, in my town, we got 1 impressive storm for about an hour, then blue skys. Hopefully they fared as well.---Jim
I spoke with Bill this morning. He had to miss Friday qualifying because of work, and when he showed up yesterday for Q2 it was pouring rain, so he started behind the F500s. The race conditions were lousy, most of the FMs went out on rains, most of the FFs on dry tires which was the right call. The FMs were holding up the FFs in the corners and pulling away on the straights. Bill got to the front and was leading on the last lap but coming down the hill he got hung up behind an FM and Lew Cooper and Bill did a re-enactment of the Goughery-Robinson Pro Race finish, a drag race down the straight with Lew winning by a foot or so, .038 at the line and Jason Generotti not far behind.
Race 2 goes off at around 3 PM. Conditions today are much better.
Recently Bill Valet posted a comment, mentioning he had never won a natinal title or a national race. Looks like he will have to amend that statement. Congradulations, Bill. It was over-due, and made better by having been achieved against excellent competition.---Jim
