I've been using Mobile 1. I'll have to dig up how much and viscosity
Let me know what weight and how much.
From RX forum i got that usually it takes 5 quarts(one with you at the track ,cause engine burns oil)
And 15W 50 fully synthetic.

valvoline premium conventional 10w30 / Motul 30w synth / AmsOil 5w30 / Idemitsu 10w30
i switch for no reason
if your ? is in regards to premix oil i will put just about anything, from the 20 dollar bottle down to 99 cent gas station shelf offerings. Red Line and Royal Purple do the trick
Juan.
Premix oil? Are you refering to adding some two cycle oil to the fuel as I have seen as a possible improvement for seal life?
synthetic or regular.
and what is difference for rotary?
I know they burn oil ,so for better compression would thicker oil be better?

thick or thin conventional burns easier than synthetic, found on web references. I use premix in the gas all the time. Drummond puts Redline 5w30 to run them in yes, so.
and a different unscientific opinion too. You could do a search on the FM forum and read for the next day and 1/2 and come to the conclusion that you'll have to make your own decision, based on .......................who knows what.
Me? Mob 1 15-50 summer time. 10-30 spring and fall. 5 qts per change.
Moving right along...................

I only had my car for 2 years. I ran what the engine builder recomends. Redline mixture. Can't remember the exact ammount, but Drummond will let you know. The engine builder is alawys your best bet for that information. My opinion for what it is worth.

What kind of Red Line oil?
And how much oil added to every 5 gallons of 91 gas?
Thanx

0-30 Mobil one synthetic with one ounce per 5 gallons of synthetic 2 cycle oil of your choice. Watch the oil temp in the summer and change to 10-40 if necessary.
I used to run 2 cycle motorcycle oil 2 oz for every gallon in fuel, redline for motor. My RX 8 has to have conventional oil no synthetics, Ran ITA RX-7 and FM many years Redline 30 wt in both, watch oil pressure, less viscous.

Maris, what we are saying is that there are two different oils used in the motor. The first oil in the sump (5 qts) is for the bottom end lubrication. Opinions vary but Redline oil is a great choice. I personally use 5W40 Mobil1 Synthetic. Synthetic oils have proven their value through reduction in friction, heat and incredible strength under pressure (pun intended).
The other oil we are talking about is the two-stroke oil added to the fuel. This aids in seal protection and actually prolongs fuel cell life, especially if fuel cells are exposed to any alcohol...like any pump gas these days. The oil keeps the alcohol in gas from drying out the cell foam, and preserving the foam. I always fill my fuel cells for winter storage with gas with no alcohol additives and add a full bottle of two stroke oil.
But I digress. Find an oil you are comfortable with for the crank case. Again, any brand name oil won't be bad for the engine, the synthetics will protect better and produce less internal friction.
Again, same deal for the two-stroke oil. Any brand name, from chain saw motors to motorcycles, to marine two stroke engines all will work fine for our applications.

Thank you,Tom.
Very well described approach to oil service for engine and fuel cell.
Really appreciate it.

I also appreciate the information and support for the FM community. Anything that helps cut the race budget and keep us on the track is well worth it.
