Has anyone done any testing on RF97 or earlier, scoop vs no scoop? I kwow what the scoop makers say but I wonder if the additional drag is worth the purported h.p. gain. I noticed that Mike Andersons' RF97 Championship car didn't have a scoop.

We actually made a side-mounted scoop for that car, but we ended up not using it. We modified a Carbir scoop to fit on the engine cover and tried it out for one session at Watkins Glen. I only did a few laps with it and decided I didn't like it because it totally blocked the view out of one of the mirrors (I know, we should have checked that before we mounted it ). We didn't see any difference in the data, but we really didn't spend enough time with it to tell for sure.
